Accused arrested by Vigilance.
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against former Tarn Taran MLA Dr. Dharmveer Agnihotri’s son and daughter -in -law and Executive Officer (EO), clerk and owner of a firm for great manipulation in funds.

In this case, the accused Sharanjit Kaur EO, Narinder Kumar Clerk and the owner of the firm Rajiv Gupta have been arrested. While Sandeep Kumar Agnihotri and his wife Jyoti Sachdeva are still out of the grip.
In the police station of Amritsar range of Vigilance Bureau against the accused, Section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act as well as 13 (1) and Sections 409, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC under FIR Number 22, dated 2.05.2025 under 120-B have been recorded.
Local body department investigated
The State Vigilance Bureau official said that a case has been registered in this regard based on the results of checking by the local body department. The next investigation is being done by the Vigilance Bureau. The accused in this case include Sharanjit Kaur, Executive Officer (now suspended) and Clerk Narinder Kumar of Municipal Council Taran Taran, Sandeep Kumar Agnihotri, son of former MLA Dharamvir Agnihotri and his wife Jyoti Sachdeva. He is the owner of M / s MK Padma Petroleum and is a shareholder of Rajiv Gupta, a resident of New Pawan Nagar Amritsar, M / s Sharp Focus Vision Private Limited and Messrs SR Enterprises Limited.
Five years of fraud transactions
During the investigation, it has been revealed that fraudulent transactions were done by the above executive officer during the years of 2017-2022. He made wrong payments to M / s Sidhu Construction Company, M / s Brother Construction Company and M / s Friends Association through various checks. In addition, in association with Sandeep Kumar Agnihotri, son of former MLA Dharamvir Agnihotri, the convict EO also made fake payments to his companies M / s Sharp Focus Vision Private Limited and M / s SR Enterprises.
Got some amount after strictness
During the checking done by the local bodies department Punjab, the above fake payment was recovered, but the amount of 27 lakh 88 thousand rupees is still outstanding. During the investigation, it was also found that Sandeep Kumar Agnihotri had also received a fake payment of Rs 4 crore 41 lakh 03 thousand 086 in the name of MK Padma Petroleum, owner of his wife Jyoti Sachdeva.
Later, Sandeep Agnihotri deposited some part of this forged payment back to the accounts of Municipal Council Tarn Taran, but 35 lakh 45 thousand 404 rupees are still outstanding. After partial payment of outstanding bills, a total of Rs 1 crore 05 lakh 30 thousand 628 was found towards M / s MK Padma Petroleum.
In addition, according to the departmental inspection report provided by Principal Secretary, Local Bodies, Punjab, EO Sharanjit Kaur, who was posted in his office and issued payment to the above clerk Narinder Kumar without any bill or work order.
Apart from this, it was also found that 14 lakh 61 thousand 980 rupees, 3 lakh 25 thousand rupees and 2 lakh 09 thousand 400 rupees were paid to various firms without any tender or quotation.
