Amid increasing tension after the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan has now appointed ISI Chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik as the new National Security Advisor. The appointment was on 29 April, but was released in the release media around 1:30 pm on 1 May. Asim Malik was appointed as Chief of ISI in September 2024.
Earlier on April 30, the Government of India has re -constituted the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). Alok Joshi, former head of Research and Analysis Wing (R& AW, Raw), has been made its new chairman.

6 members in NSAB, former officers of Army, Navy and Air Force
After the Government of India’s decision, now the NSAB will also have 6 members. Among them are former officers of Army, Navy and Air Force. Also, former diplomat and former IPS officer have also been included in it.
The government has taken this decision in view of the Pahalgam terror attack. NSAB will input the National Security Council Secretariat. This decision was taken in the Cabinet Committee (CCS) meeting on the security held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of PM Modi.
Pakistan Minister said- India can attack in 36 hours

Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Ataullah Tarar claimed a video on social media and claimed to attack India in the next 24-36 hours.
Earlier on Tuesday-Thursday late night, Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Ataullah Tarar claimed that India could take military action against him in the next 24-36 hours.
Tarar said that he has received reliable intelligence that India can do so on the pretext of Pahalgam incident. He said that Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorism and understands the pain of this crisis in the true sense. We have always condemned it in the world.

India shut down aircraft for Pakistan Late on Wednesday, India shut down its airbase for Pakistan. That is, all types of flights of Pakistan will not be able to fly in Indian aircraft till May 23. India has issued notice to Airman for Pakistan. It states that if a flight comes in the Indian zone, action will be taken on it. Pakistan had decided to shut down its aircraft for India on 23 April.
This decision was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar came after the high level meeting of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi. This meeting lasted an hour. However, it was not reported that the decision to shut down aircraft was taken in this meeting.

26 tourists killed in Pahalgam attack On April 22, 26 tourists were killed by terrorists in Basaron Valley near Pahalgam. Among them was a Nepali citizen. More than 10 people were injured. The attack was carried out when a large number of tourists were present in the Basaron Valley. Among the dead are tourists from UP, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha. One tourist and 2 locals of Nepal and UAE were also killed.
