After the terrorist incident, diplomatic tension between India and Pakistan reached its peak. In this atmosphere, the situation of those Pakistani citizens who had settled in India, but had gone to Pakistan for some reasons, and now wanted to return to India. Decision of Government of India The Government of India, while adopting a human view, decided that Pakistani citizens who have legitimate LTV or Nori certificates will continue to live in India. However, these visas and certificate holders were not being allowed to come to India from Pakistan in the initial stages. They were not able to cross the border, causing them to be quite confused and stressed.
Relief now Now the Government of India has issued clear instructions, allowing LTV and Nori Certificate holders to enter India. After this decision, today 70 Pakistani citizens reached India via Wagah border. Everyone had either long term visa or Nori Certificate.
All these citizens were given documentary verification on the border and after completing the formalities, they were given entry into India. This has breathed a sigh of relief by these citizens and their families in India.

Long term visa is a special type of visa given by the Government of India, which is given to foreign nationals who want to live in India for a long time, especially for special human reasons. It is usually given to people of the following categories:-
- Minority refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, such as Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians.
- People who want to rehabilitate with their family members in India.
- Those who intend to settle permanent in India and are in the process of applying for Indian citizenship.
Main things of long term visa:-
- The visa duration can occur for many years (eg 5 years or more).
- People living on this visa can work in India, do business, study and also buy property (with certain conditions).
- LTV holders have to register with the local police (FRRO) and also have to get visa renewal from time to time.
- The Government of India gives it many times on humanitarian grounds with special concessions.
