Counter Intelligence Amritsar has got a significant success in the ongoing campaign against drug smuggling network across the border. A smuggler named Balveer Singh has been arrested near the Attari area in the campaign run on the basis of a secret information.

A large quantity, 3 kg, high quality heroin has been recovered from the possession of the accused. This action is considered a major achievement under special campaigns being run by the Punjab Police against drugs. The value of this consignment at the international level is close to 21 crores.

According to sources, the counter intelligence team had received reliable intelligence that a person is planning to smuggle a large amount of heroin around the Attari area. Immediately coming into action, the team increased the surveillance in the area and monitored suspicious activities. When Balveer Singh was caught under siege, 3 kg of heroin was recovered from his possession during his search.

Case filed in SSOC

There are 6 packets of the caught consignment, on which the hook remains. It is clear that this consignment has been devoted to Pakistan through drones. An FIR has been lodged against Balveer Singh in the NDPS Act (NDPS Act) in the Police Station Special Operation Sail (SSOC) Amritsar. During his interrogation, many important clues are expected to be found, so that instructions have been given to locate the entire network.

Harpreet Singh’s name surfaced According to Counter Intelligence officials, this smuggling racket is expected to include many other persons including Pakistan -based smuggler Harpreet Singh. Balveer Singh continues to be intensively interrogated so that other smugglers associated with the network can be identified. How Pakistan -based smugglers are planning to send drugs to India, it is also being investigated in depth.
