The matter is being investigated by the SIT constituted by Punjab and Haryana. In such a situation, there is no court in the mood to leave any kind of relaxation in this case. Sultan Singh Sangha, a lawyer of the five policemen, filed a revision petition in the Additional District Judge’s court, saying that his clients had agreed to conduct a polygraph test under pressure from senior police officers.

Earlier on April 5, notice was given to appear before the SIT in the court premises. At that time, ADGP rank officer was present in the court. Due to which the police came under pressure and agreed for the polygraph test. He said that no lawyers were present on behalf of police personnel while registering consent.

These personnel had earlier agreed

According to the information, the first six policemen- Mukhtiar Singh, Constable Simranjit Singh, Constable Harpreet Singh, Constable Balwinder Singh, Constable Satnam Singh and Constable Amritpal Singh had agreed to undergo the first polygraph test and their statements were recorded.

Later, Sultan Singh Sangha, a lawyer of the said policemen, told the media that a senior IPS officer of ADGP rank was present in the court at the time of passing the order and his clients had agreed to the polygraph test under pressure. Sangha said, “There was no lawyer with the policemen at the time of registering their consent before the court concerned.

Polygraph test is necessary

According to sources, the investigating agencies suspect that the interview inside the jail was not possible without internal collusion in the security system. In such a situation, this polygraph test will be conducted to find out whether the jail staff or police employees did not help Lawrence Bishnoi to the media.

6 officers were suspended

The Punjab government came into action after the intervention of the High Court in the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi interview case in jail, after which 6 police officers including DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu were suspended. All of them were found guilty of interviewing gangster Lawrence Bishnoi on 3 April 2022. Lawrence was then locked at CIA Police Station Kharar.

Lawrence’s first interview was broadcast on 14 March. In which Lawrence confessed to killing Sidhu Mouswala. Lawrence said that Muswala was entering the gang war instead of singing. His college friend Akali leader Vicky Middukheda also had a hand in the murder. So got him killed. According to the SIT report, this is the same interview that it gave from CIA custody.

Lawrence also gave evidence of interviewing from inside the jail in his second interview. He also showed his barrack and told that he is not allowed to go out, but the mobile also comes to him and also a signal. Lawrence said in his interview that the jail guards are very rare at night, so he is calling at night.
