More than 500 foreign nationals arrested in Gujarat: Most of them Bangladeshi; Police action in Ahmedabad-Surat after Pahalgam attack

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the Gujarat government has taken major action against foreign nationals. Police raids continue in Ahmedabad and Surat from late night. More than 500 people have been detained so far. Most of them are Bangladeshi citizens.

More than 400 Bangladeshi people have been caught in Ahmedabad and more than 100 Bangladeshi people from Surat. At present, all these are being questioned and the necessary documents are being investigated. The police is calling it the biggest campaign to catch foreign nationals so far.

The Gujarat Police operation against foreign nationals started at 12 pm on Saturday and lasted till 6 am. There were about 100 policemen in 6 teams of Surat police. Two DCPs, four ACPs and around 10 inspectors were included.
