Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and music composer AR Rahman made ‘Rockstar’, which was not very successful at the box office, but its songs are still in the hearts of people. Songs like ‘Kun Faya Kun’ and ‘Phir Udh Chala’ are still heard everywhere.
Recently, Imtiaz Ali spoke to O2India and AR for ‘Rockstar’. Shared his experiences with Rahman and told some interesting things.

Why did Rahman do Imtiaz Ali ‘Ghost ‘?
Imtiaz Ali gave AR for ‘Rockstar’ Connected to Rahman, but at the same time he was also working on his other films, such as ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Love Aaj Kal’. When Imtiaz again approached Rahman, he did not respond.
Imtiaz said that once Rahman had promised music for ‘Rockstar’, but then suddenly no message came to him. Imtiaz felt that Rahman may have been out of this project without saying anything.
Then one day during the location in Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi, Imtiaz came to know from a local that Rahman had come there and was working on a song and film. Knowing this, Imtiaz understood that Rahman was secretly working on ‘Rockstar’.

‘Fly again’ Interesting event during recording of
The shooting of the film began in Pahalgam, Kashmir and Imtiaz also called Rahman there. One day, when they were roaming near snowy peaks and dargahs, Rahman recording the song ‘Phir again Udle Chala’. During this time a fun incident happened when Kashmiri girls did not recognize Rahman.
Imtiaz Ali said, ‘Rahman sir set a recording console at the reception of the hotel. He was in black T-shirts and gray pants. When these girls came chorus songs, they asked who is the musician.
These girls did not know much about cinema, so they neither had any problem in recognizing me nor Rahman. When he asked, ‘Who is the musician?’, I gestured them to keep quiet and sent them where they had to recording. When Rahman Sir came out, a girl again asked, ‘Who is the musician?’ I pointed to Rahman and said, ‘This is AR Rahman. ‘

Imtiaz further said, ‘A girl did not believe and said,’ This is AR. Rahman cannot be, I have seen meeting him, he looks different. ‘ Rahman jokingly said, ‘Yes, yes, forget.’ He then sat behind the console and started recording. And until the recording was over, these girls did not understand that they actually AR. She was singing for Rahman.

Let me tell you, ‘Rockstar’ was a musical romantic drama film, in which Ranbir Kapoor and Nagis Fakhri played the lead roles.
Artists like Aditi Rao Hydari, Piyush Mishra, Sharmila Tegore and Shammi Kapoor also played an important role in the film.
