When journalists questioned the factory owner of spreading dirt, he said that according to me, there is complete cleanliness. After this raid of the health department, there has been a stir among those selling many food items.

Lab sent for investigation with samples
Two samples of ice cream were taken by the team, which have been sent to the State Food Lab for further investigation. The factory management was challaned to operate in dirty conditions on the spot and legal action has been initiated under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Amarjeet Kaur said that no agreement will be tolerated on public health. Food units are running in dirty conditions. She is not only violating the law, but is also playing with people’s lives. Our teams are conducting regular checks and strict action will be taken against those who break the rules.
The health department has warned all the food traders to strictly follow the rules of cleanliness, otherwise strict legal action will be taken against them. The department has reiterated that protecting public health is its priority and only clean, safe and quality food should reach consumers.
