Shimla, Himachal Pradesh received light rain on Monday.
The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms in 20 states on Tuesday. Orange alert of heavy rains has been issued in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. A similar weather is expected to remain in the north-eastern states of the country this week.
Apart from this, the department has predicted heatwave (heat) running in seven states including Rajasthan Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, Rajasthan’s temperature may increase again in the next few days. In three to four days, the temperature can increase by 2 to 3 degrees. Chandrapur in Maharashtra was the hottest district in the country on the second day with 45.6 degrees.
