Bangladesh Police has demanded a red corner notice against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from Interpol. Apart from Hasina, a similar demand has been made against 11 others.
Sheikh Hasina has been living in India since the coup in August last year.
Bangladesh’s International Crime Tribunal (ICT) issued arrest warrants against Sheikh Hasina, her former ministers, advisors and officials. They were accused of crime and genocide against humanity.
Interpol’s red notice helps to find a person and temporarily arrest him before extradition or legal action.
Hasina had said- Bangladesh has now become a terrorist country
Sheikh Hasina spoke on social media on 8 April, saying that earlier Bangladesh was seen as a model of development, but now it has become a terrorist country. The way our leaders and workers are being killed cannot be told. Awami League, police, lawyer, journalist, artist are all being killed.
Hasina said that now the media is not being allowed to work in this country. Rape, murder, robbery are not being reported. And if it is reported, that TV channel or newspaper will be targeted.
He further said, ‘Allah has kept me alive for some purpose. I will return. The day will definitely come when those targeting the leaders of Awami League will be brought to the dock of justice.

The movement against reservation had coupled
Sheikh Hasina left the country on 5 August last year and came to India. Students across the country demonstrated against him. In fact, on June 5 in Bangladesh, the High Court implemented 30% quota system in the job, protesting the students of universities in Dhaka against this reservation. This reservation was being given to the families of freedom fighters.
However, this reservation was later abolished by the Hasina government. But after this, students started protesting demanding their resignation.
A large number of students and common people took to the road against Hasina and her government. Two months after this Protest, he resigned as Prime Minister on 5 August. The interim government was formed in Bangladesh after Hasina’s resignation.

Nobel winner Professor Mohammad Yunus was appointed Chief Advisor of the Interim Government.
Hasina’s passport canceled, arrest warrant issued
The Yunus government formed after the coup in Bangladesh has registered more than 225 cases of murder, kidnapping to treason. At the same time, the Bangladeshi government has warned that while living in India, the statements being made by Hasina are spoiling the relationship between the two countries.
The Bangladesh government has also canceled Sheikh Hasina’s passport due to the killings in July. At the same time, an arrest warrant was issued against him by the International Criminal Tribunal of Bangladesh. The tribunal has directed Hasina to appear by 12 February.
Bangladesh has also appealed to India to deline Hasina. However, the Government of India has increased his visa, making it clear that he would not be sent to Bangladesh.
