2000 pillars and 100 transformers damaged
A PSPCL official said that 220 KV transmission lines and several towers were damaged from Nabha to Bhawanigarh grid, causing a loss of Rs 3 crore to the department. Around 2,000 electric poles and 100 transformers were also damaged, causing a loss of Rs 2.5 crore. Senior PSPCL officials said that the damage to the agricultural sector is yet to be assessed.

Maximum damage in Malwa region
“The power supply in Malwa areas was affected in Malwa areas. The supply was restored in regular colonies in a few hours, while it took about 8-10 hours to restore electricity in slums and illegal colonies,” said an official.
