Villagers informed the governor about sand mafia

Jai Inder said that the police commissioner of Ludhiana told us that an FIR has been registered against the attackers and if the role of another person is found behind the attack, then the police will also nominate those people.
Asked whether illegal mining is going on, Jai Inder Kaur said that the governor has sought complete information and has assured to confirm whether there is any illegality in sand mining.
Women’s Advocate runs Jujhar Welfare Association
Advocate Simranjit Kaur said that she runs an NGO called Jujhar Welfare Association, which makes the villagers aware of mining rules and regulations, so that the mining mafia people cannot bother them. The sand mafia is constantly threatening.
According to the victim, the roads of the village are being destroyed by the trucks involved in sand mining, the villagers are being harassed and a false FIR is being lodged against the villagers on the complaint of the mining mafia.
Advocate Simranjit Kaur said that last evening she went to Sasrali Colony for an awareness seminar, where people of the sand mining contractor came and attacked her. A terrible incident took place on 17 April, when the goons of the mining mafia attacked unarmed villagers.

Simranjit Kaur said that I suffered serious injuries in the attack, I was beaten, my hair was pulled and a saber attacked, I got 15 stitches and possibly fractured. Many other villagers including Amandeep Singh and Balraj Singh also suffered serious injuries in the attack.
Despite clear video and live footage, the police did not bother to register an FIR, but when we raised the case before the Governor of Punjab, a case was registered.
Advocate Kaur said that although sand mining is legal, the mining mafia are illegally mining and if the government investigates, illegal mining can be caught.
Advocate said that earlier when the villagers raised the issue that roads were being broken by mining trucks and truck drivers drive at high speed, so that passengers are not safe on the roads, the mining contractor assured that they would not drive the mining trucks in the peak hours, but now the queues of traits are being seen in the peak hours, which is causing trouble to the villagers.
Ludhiana Police Commissioner Swapn Sharma said that an FIR has been registered against the attackers and the villagers will be given justice.
