Sirsa police have arrested a suspected youth in a case of smuggling illegal arms. The CIA Ellenabad police team arrested the accused from village Dalip Nagar area and recovered an illegal pistol of 32 bore from him.

The accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Dhiru, a resident of Dayalpura Bhaika in Bathinda district of Punjab. Presently he was living in Karamgarh police station Sadar Dabwali. According to the CIA Ellenabad in -charge Sub Inspector Jagdish Chandra, when the police team was going from Jeevan Nagar towards Dabwali Road during routine patrolling, he saw a person in Dalip Nagar area.
Police searched for suspicion
On seeing the police, he started fleeing and running away. On suspicion, the police caught him and in the search, an illegal 32 bore pistol was recovered from him. The police have registered a case against the accused in the police station under the Arms Act.
The police will present the accused in court and demand remand. During interrogation, information will be collected on other people associated with the network of illegal weapons.
