The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court on Thursday issued summons to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The court has asked to reply by 8 May. This summons has been issued on the petition of Prafulla Vinod Rao of Congress.

Prafulla lost the 2024 assembly election from Nagpur South West seat to Fadnavis by 39,710 votes. In the petition filed in January, Prafulla has demanded to declare Fadnavis’s victory illegal by alleging disturbances in the election process.

Justice Praveen Patil heard the petition in his chamber. The High Court has also issued notices to BJP MLA Mohan Mate from Nagpur West and Kirtikumar Bhangadia from Chimur seat in Chandrapur district on similar petitions.
