In Faridkot district, a joint team of police and health department raided two villages on Wednesday night and busted illegal de -addiction centers. Police freed one to 21 people from these centers running in village Chakk Kalyan and Araiyanwala Kalan.

According to the information, this illegal center in Chakk Kalyan was being run in a closed private school building. The team found 21 people admitted to get rid of drugs here. Meanwhile, the team received information that an illegal center is also running in Araiyanwala Kalan.

The center was being operated in a three-room house between the fields, where 20-25 people were kept according to the police. Those rescued from the center of Chakk Kalyan were sent to the government center of Faridkot Medical College Hospital. While in Araiyanwala Kalan, the operators escaped with the patients.

Administration sealed both centers

The raid was taken on the basis of information. The team of police and health department first raided Chakk Kalyan, from where the patients were freed. The operators and patients escaped before the raid in Araiyanwala Kalan. The administration has sealed both the centers and initiated action against the operators.

In this case, DSP Raj Kumar said that this center was taking 10 to 15 thousand per month in the name of getting rid of drug addiction. While he had neither any kind of approval nor did he see arrangements or resources to get rid of intoxication. At present, both the centers have been sealed and action will be taken against the center operators.
