A sudden fire broke out in a truck on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday on National Highway-44 near Tarawadi in Karnal district. The fire in the truck spread so fast that in a few minutes it completely engulfed the truck. Police and fire brigade opportunity after reporting the incident

According to the information, the truck was going from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand to Tapla in Punjab and biscuits were laden in it. The accident took place at around one o’clock in the night. Truck driver Mohammad Uvesh said that he had moved from Rudrapur with a truck laden with biscuits boxes. As soon as the truck reached the Tarawadi area, suddenly smoke started to rise from the conductor side and the fire broke out on seeing it.
Fire spread to the car side
Due to the moving speed in the truck, the driver took a while to plant the car on the side and by the time the car was shore, the fire had spread a lot. The tires also caught fire. The information of the incident was immediately given to the fire brigade and the police. Shortly after, the team of fire brigade reached the spot and after much effort the fire was controlled.

Short circuit is believed to be a possible cause behind the fire, but it has not been confirmed yet. Tarawadi police station in -charge SHO Naseeb Singh said that the truck suddenly caught fire, on receiving the information, the police team immediately reached the spot.
