According to the information, the tourism department in Chandigarh will launch a dedicated portal for unique ID and live data upload system for hotels. In this, the hotels of the city will upload information about tourists staying here in real time. Each hotel will get a unique ID and password, which will make the mutual coordination of data easier.

Preparation to provide these facilities online

Under this plan, facilities like online ticketing, single window clearance system, centralized tourism portal, and toll-free helpline will be included. The administration has deeply studied the tourism models of Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Kerala, Haryana and other union territories to make the scheme effective. Also, the hotel owners, hospitality sector and tourism association have also been consulted.

Every year about 30 thousand foreign and 12 lakh Indian tourists reach Chandigarh. The administration aims to increase these numbers through the new scheme.

30 tourist policemen will be appointed, who will be given special training at Hotel Management Institute, Sector 42. These policemen will continue to put a blue badge of ‘Tourist Police’ in white dress and will provide security and assistance to India and foreign tourists. A single window approval system will be introduced in the city to allow film shooting, which will save time.
