The standup comedian Kunal Kamra case will be heard in the Bombay High Court today. The comedian had a petition scope in the court to cancel the FIR lodged on himself, after which the court sought a response from the Maharashtra government on Kamra’s petition.
A bench of Justice Sarang Kotwal and Justice SM Modak issued a formal notice to the state and complainant Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel. The court gave him the time of 16 April to present his case. The detail hearing of the case has been scheduled at 2.30 pm on 16 April.
Kamra demanded immediate hearing
Kunal Kamra was given great relief to Kunal Kamra in the Parodi Song case on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. On 7 April, the court extended the interim security given to Kamra in the FIR of Mumbai Police till 17 April. Apart from this, Kamra has also filed a petition in the Bombay High Court demanding the cancellation of the case registered against her. He demanded an immediate hearing on his petition. However, the court refused to hear on 7 April and approved the hearing in the case on 8 April.
Let me tell you, Kamra filed a petition in the High Court on 5 April, claiming that the FIR lodged against her is a violation of the fundamental rights she got.
Kamra was presented in Madras High Court on 1 April
Kunal Kamra appeared in the Madras High Court on 1 April. He claimed that the police were trying to arrest him, so they should be granted transit anticipatory bail. While hearing the case, Justice Sundar Mohan granted the transit anticipatory bail to Kamra. Earlier on March 28, the High Court granted Kamra anticipatory bail till 7 April.
Know what is the whole matter
Kunal Kamra parked a standup comedy show, in which he called Maharashtra deputy CM Shinde a traitor. After the video of Kamra surfaced, supporters of Shiv Sena Shinde faction vandalized the Habitat Comedy Club in Khar area of Mumbai on the night of 23 March. Shinde said, ‘This person (Kamra) had commented on the Supreme Court, Prime Minister, Arnab Goswami and some industrialists. This is not freedom of expression. It is to work for someone. ‘
3 new cases were registered against Kamra at Khar police station in Mumbai. According to the information given by the Mumbai Police on March 29, the first complaint has been lodged by the Mayor of Jalgaon, while the remaining 1-1 cases have been made by two different businessmen of Nashik.
Kunal Kamra refused to apologize.
In this case, Mumbai Police has issued 3 summons for questioning Kunal Kamra. On 2 April, he was sent a third summons, asking to appear on 5 April. Kamra did not appear before the Mumbai Police on the third summons. At the same time, a notice of breach of privilege against Kamra has also been accepted in Maharashtra Legislative Council. Earlier on March 31, Mumbai Police reached home in Shivaji Park in Kamra.
