This year, Amarnath Yatra will start from July 3 and will run for 39 days till August 9 (Rakshabandhan). The journey will be from two routes- Pahalgam (Anantnag) and Baltal (Ganderbal) routes. About 6 lakh devotees can come on a journey.
On March 5, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the dates of the journey at the 48th meeting of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). Several proposals were discussed in the meeting to improve the facilities for the devotees. The Shrine Board has also decided to improve E-KYC, RFID card, on-spot registration and other arrangements, so that the journey can be more streamlined and safe.
The board says that this time more devotees can come on the journey than last time, keeping this in mind, the system of staying and registration at Jammu, Srinagar, Baltal, Pahalgam, Nunwan and Pantha Chowk is being improved.
Registration process for Amarnath Yatra …

Devotees said- excited to travel
Devotee Rohit said that health checkup is being done during registration. He said that I am very excited, this is my second Amarnath Yatra. Health checkup of all passengers is mandatory. At the same time, the devotee Sonia Mehra said- this is my second visit, I want to go on this holy journey every year.
Amarnath Yatra has two routes

Pahalgam Route: It takes 3 days to reach the cave with this route, but this path is easy. There is no standing climb in the journey. The first stop from Pahalgam is Chandanwadi. It is 16 km from the base camp. Climbing starts from here.
After three km climbing, the journey reaches the flea top. Walking from here, the journey reaches Sheshnag by evening. This journey is about 9 km. The next day, passengers from Sheshnag go to Pancharani. It is about 14 km from Sheshnag. The cave from Panchatarni remains just 6 km.
Baltal Route: If the time is short, then the Baltal route is the most suitable for Baba Barfani. It has to climb only 14 km, but there is a very steep climb. Therefore, the elderly have problems on this path. The paths on this route are narrow and twist.

Number of devotees increasing for 2 years

In 2024, there was an increase in the number of devotees for the second consecutive year. In 2023, 4.5 lakh pilgrims appeared in 2023 and 5 lakh pilgrims in 2024. In 2012, a record 6.35 pilgrims visited. In 2022, the figure was reduced due to Kovid and 3 lakh pilgrims arrived to visit.
