Surinder Kumar, a resident of Central Town, told the police that he had kept a woman named Samita for household work two months ago. Samita is a resident of Dipnagar. Surinder asked his wife to keep the jewelry in the bank locker. His wife did not get time to go to the bank that day. The next day when the cupboard examined, about 8-10 weighing gold jewels were missing.
No outsider came to the house
The victim says that no outsider came to the house that day. He is confident that the jewelry has been stolen by the maid Samita. Surinder Kumar lodged a police complaint on 13 March. After one month of preliminary investigation, the police have registered an FIR at the city police station.
According to investigating officer ASI Harjit Singh, the accused woman has not been arrested yet.
