According to reports, from late Friday evening to Saturday morning, more than 205 flights were delayed from time and more than 50 flights had to be diverted. According to airport sources, most flights were delayed by an hour on an average.
Due to the affecting flight operation, a large number of passengers gathered at the airport and there was an atmosphere of chaos. Passengers faced problems like long wait and frequent checking. After this, major airlines like Air India and IndiGo issued advisory for passengers on X.
The Delhi Airport Administration said, “Some flights have been affected due to bad weather. Passengers are requested to get information about the situation of flights from their respective airlines. I am sorry for inconvenience.”

Passenger said- behaved like animals
A passenger said in a social media post, “A huge crowd has gathered at Delhi Airport. Passengers are being treated like animals.”
The second passenger posted, “We had a connecting flight from Srinagar to Mumbai, which was to be landed in Delhi at 6 pm. It was diverted to Chandigarh. We were seated in a flight to Mumbai which was 12 o’clock in the night. It is 8 o’clock in the morning. We are still stranded at the airport.”
The 75 -year -old woman going on a wheelchair said, “We have been stranded for more than 12 hours. I have been waiting at the airport since 11 pm, but no solution was found.”
Life disturbed due to strong storm in Delhi
There was an atmosphere of chaos in the passengers due to the strong thunderstorm at Delhi railway station on Friday.
On Friday, there was a sudden strong thunderstorm in Delhi and surrounding areas, which broke the twigs of trees and fell on the roads and vehicles. Electricity supply was also disrupted in many areas, especially in areas like Narela, Bawana, Badli and Mangolpuri.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also released ‘Orange Alert’ in Delhi for Saturday and has warned of celestial electricity and thunderstorms.
