Kanchanpreet Kaur, the daughter of Principal Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa, who was an Akali candidate in Tarn Taran by-elections, was arrested recently. He appeared for questioning at Majitha police station and was arrested there after a long questioning.
Kanchanpreet’s arrest was opposed by Sukhbir Singh Badal. He said that they think that they will weaken the leadership of Akali Dal, but remember, they do not allow this to happen. He said that police brutality is continuing in Tarn Taran. After the by-election results, the Bokhlai police arrested Kanchanpreet in a false case to spread terror before the elections. The responsible officials will face the law.
Let it be known that former MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha alleged that the police presented another woman as Kanchanpreet in the Tarn Taran court. The police personnel took Kanchanpreet inside through the back gate. An honest SSP was suspended for not arresting Kanchanpreet. On the other hand, Kanchanpreet refused to talk to the media and only said that she has full confidence in the court. Valtoha claimed that Kanchanpreet’s popularity has increased so much that officials are even saying that she can become an MLA in 2027.
