Pakistan’s anger over Shri Ram Temple flag hoisting

Pakistan’s habit of criticizing India is not new; This has become a permanent character of his diplomacy and narrow thinking. There is hardly any occasion when an impressive picture of India’s growing power, increasing credibility and cultural advancement emerges and Pakistan does not make tragic comments full of narrow mindedness, does not create an atmosphere of protest or does not open a bundle of unrestrained allegations on international forums. His nervousness over the recent flag hoisting ceremony at Shri Ram temple in Ayodhyaji is the latest example of this mental bankruptcy. Pakistan never misses any opportunity to disturb the natural harmony of Indianness. It was not just a religious ceremony, but a moment of India’s cultural consciousness, civilizational memory and cultural self-respect which attracted the attention of the entire world. Pakistan not only protested against this historical incident but also took it to the United Nations and complained, as if it considered it its diplomatic responsibility to interfere in every internal matter of India. Even before this, he had lodged an unrestrained protest on the occasion of construction of Ram temple. This is his style which cannot bear seeing any glimpse of cultural upliftment and upliftment of India.

In its statement with complete sophistry and mischievousness, Pakistan’s Foreign Office has alleged that the flag hoisting of Shri Ram Temple is the result of a wider trend of pressurizing religious minorities in India. Well, the world knows in which country the minorities are under more pressure. Today, there are barely 50 lakh Hindus left in Pakistan, other minorities Sikhs and Christians are negligible. Before partition there used to be about 15 percent Hindus in West Pakistan, but after partition the number of Hindus came down to around 2 percent. On the other hand, there are more than 20 crore Muslims in India, their number is increasing rapidly along with other minorities. This extravagant comment from Pakistan has come at a time when Pakistan itself has long been the center of violence against Hindus, Christians and other religious minorities including Ahmadiyya Muslims. According to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, violence and persecution against Christians and Hindus continued across Pakistan in the first half of 2025.

According to the proverb that a cat went to Haj after eating a hundred rats, this interference of Pakistan is not only unacceptable but also exposes its double mentality and hypocritical character. The irony is that the country which is incapable of keeping its own citizens safe, which has been violating the fundamental rights of its own minorities, is pretending to stay awake all night worrying about the rights of Muslims in India. How can a country where the population of Hindus has almost reached extinction since 1947, where there are countless examples of atrocities on Sikhs, where Christian prayer meetings are often targeted by violence, acquire the moral authority to preach on minority rights in India? Pakistan’s credibility has been so damaged that its every complaint becomes nothing more than a political gimmick.

The fear of India’s growing self-confidence, emerging global prestige and strengthening national consciousness is clearly visible behind this behavior of Pakistan. The speed with which India is playing an influential role in world politics today, the speed with which its economic power is growing and whose cultural and civilizational discourses are getting respect at the global level, is the root cause of Pakistan’s uneasiness. Pakistan has understood that India is emerging not only as a political or economic power but also as a cultural superpower. The reconstruction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the cultural consciousness associated with it is creating a new unity, new energy and a new self-respect within the Indian society. This is the power that Pakistan fears most because a confident, united and culture-filled India is the biggest challenge to its fundamentalist politics and anti-India conspiracies.

The ‘booklets’ and ‘complaints’ presented by Pakistan at international forums are actually a certificate of its failed foreign policy. A country, which is today itself entangled in the roots of economic bankruptcy, political instability and terrorism, makes a ridiculous attempt to turn India’s internal religious events into a political crisis. His behavior is not only intrusive but also provocative. India is not only capable of factually rejecting all these baseless allegations, but is also prepared to give a befitting reply at every forum, if needed. India’s policy is clear, it does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country, but it also does not accept anyone’s interference in its internal affairs. India’s internal policies are governed by the Constitution and democratic system. The minority community here enjoys equal rights like any other community. Every religion, sect and ideology gets equal respect on the land of India. It is a country of diversity and equality where temples, mosques, gurudwaras and churches are not mere architectural structures but multicolored flowers of Indian culture. Pakistan’s one-sided religious policy and fundamentalist dominance does not understand this, hence it exposes its own limited thinking by objecting to India’s religious events.

India has given a peaceful and fact-based response to every challenge, every accusation and every provocative statement. This restraint is both its strength and its culture. But this does not mean that India will ignore any provocative step. Time and again, India has shown that it is capable not only culturally and spiritually, but also at the strategic, diplomatic and economic levels. Pakistan knows very well that India is now the India of the twenty-first century – self-reliant, awakened, organized and a world-recognized power. The Ram temple in Ayodhya is not just a reconstruction of a religious site, but an echo of the cultural renaissance associated with the soul of India. No international platform can undermine this. No matter how many complaints Pakistan makes, how many statements it issues, or how many false stories it creates, the rise of India’s cultural consciousness is unstoppable and it will continue to establish new dimensions in the future. The truth is that this panic of Pakistan is a reflection of its defeated mentality. India’s growing power, growing prestige and emerging cultural identity is the biggest crisis for it. But India’s path is clear – it will move forward, strengthen its civilization, establish its culture on the world stage and firmly face any unrestrained interference. No matter how many fronts Pakistan poses a threat, India is capable of responding on every front – with courage and values.
