Those opposing Maratha Reservation will have to be defeated in local body elections: Manoj Jarange

Reservation activist Manoj Jarange on Friday said those opposing quota for Marathas in jobs and education should not get votes in the ongoing local body elections in Maharashtra. He said that the community will not forgive those leaders who will stand against their demands.

Jarange, who has led several rounds of agitation demanding reservation for Marathas under the OBC category, said that after achieving “victory” on the reservation front, the youth of the community should now focus on becoming entrepreneurs.

“We will not let anyone who opposes Maratha reservation win,” he told reporters outside the Mumbai airport. They will have to be defeated, only then they will be able to understand the strength of the Maratha community.

“I am not afraid of threats,” he said. Some people say they’d run over me, but I’m not alone. Wherever I go in Maharashtra, my supporters are with me.
