The pairing of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will dominate the screen again! Ayan Mukherjee will make a modern version of Raj Kapoor’s ‘Chori Chori’

It can finally happen! After a long wait of ten years, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are working together once again. And not just for any filmmaker, they are coming together for their ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ director Ayan Mukherjee.This project will be special in many ways. First of all, it will see the much-awaited onscreen reunion of one of today’s most loved couples. And secondly, it will be based on Ranbir’s great grandfather Raj Kapoor and Nargis’s classic ‘Chori Chori’.

Details about the project

According to a report in India Today, the Ranbir-DP starrer film will be a modern tribute to the 1956 classic. ‘Chori Chori’ featured the story of a runaway heiress and a witty reporter. The two meet during a journey and a bond is formed between them. Ranbir, who is preparing to restart RK Films, will produce this film under the same famous banner.
With this project, Ranbir is set to revive the famous RK Films banner, a move driven by his personal interest in bringing back the family legacy. The upcoming film is expected to be the first title under the new banner.
With Ayan on board as director and Ranbir-Deepika in the lead, the film is not only a big onscreen reunion but also a modern tribute to the landmark pairing of Raj Kapoor-Nargis.
The upcoming project will see Kapoor and Padukone teaming up again after 10 years, after their previous film Tamasha (2015). Their pairing in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ was very much liked by the fans.
Meanwhile, Ranbir is busy shooting for ‘Love and War’ with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. He is also shooting for ‘Ramayana’. On the other hand, Deepika will next be seen in a film with ‘King’ and Allu Arjun.
