Security forces have arrested five people, including four militants of various banned organizations, who were allegedly involved in extortion from Imphal East and West districts. Police gave this information on Friday.
Three Kanglipak Communist Party (PWG) activists were arrested in Imphal East district on Wednesday, who were allegedly involved in extortion from the public, petrol pumps, private schools and government colleges, police said in a statement.
Another member of this organization was arrested from Looker Mayai Leikai area of Imphal district on Thursday, who is accused of recruiting youth into the banned organization. Besides, security forces on Thursday arrested another person from Kontha Ahallup in Imphal East district and recovered two hand grenades from his possession.
