Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the house of basketball player Hardik Rathi in Lakhanmajra block of Rohtak and expressed his grief. He said that players go to the field and their bodies return home. The Chief Minister appealed to the Prime Minister and the Union Sports Minister to take notice of these incidents.
Chief Minister Mann described the death of Hardik Rathi as a tragic incident. Hardik, a national level basketball player, was selected for the national competition and was scheduled to play a few days later. He was killed by a falling basketball pole during practice.
Chief Minister Mann said that sportsmen across the country are shocked by this incident. He also mentioned a similar incident in Bahadurgarh, where an accident occurred due to the use of substandard materials. He raised the question of who is responsible when the players go to the field and their bodies return home. He asked whether such incidents would motivate the youth towards sports.
The Chief Minister said that Lakhanmajra village has more than 47 national and international level basketball players. Now their families are worried that their child has gone to play, but will he return safely? He reiterated that the Sports Minister and Prime Minister of the country should immediately resolve this serious issue.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that India has been given the responsibility of hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2030. The country was disgraced in the previous Commonwealth Games. Many shortcomings were evident. Are we capable of becoming a world leader with such sporting facilities? We lost two basketball players in three days, which is tragic.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that as a sports lover, he has come to Hardik’s house to express his condolences. Instead of talking about Punjab, let’s talk about Haryana. Haryana’s sports policy may be good, but what is the result? Injuries and players go hand in hand. But such accidents should not happen.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the Union Sports Minister should seek a report from the Sports Minister of each state about the condition of the stadiums. He himself is the sports minister in Punjab. The central government should also ask for a report from them. The Haryana government may have provided financial assistance to the family, but will it bring the child back?

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that other players who practiced with Hardik have lost their morale and are not ready to take the field. The players have also written a letter to the government about the stadium. Money has also come from the MP fund, but it needs to be checked.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann demanded that the Haryana government provide a government job and financial assistance to a member of Hardik’s family. He also demanded that a report be taken of all the stadiums and facilities should be provided. Hardik’s family also demanded that the government take steps to ensure that no other sportsperson suffers a similar tragedy.
