Following this, the protesters tried to cross the barricades, following which the police used water cannons and mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd. Moreover, the police also arrested some protesters on the occasion. National Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib said, “Today we are protesting against the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar. We know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister by stealing votes. Gyanesh Kumar, who protected democracy, has become the destroyer of democracy. He is working for the Prime Minister and his party. We are protesting against him until he comes to his senses and starts working to protect the democracy of the country. Till then we will continue to protest across the country.”
He further said that whether there is water cannon or lathicharge, we will not be afraid at all. We will continue to struggle for the democracy of the country until Gyanesh Kumar comes to his senses and starts working properly. On the other hand, state Youth Congress president Yash Ghanghoria said, “Today Youth Congress workers protested against the Election Commission of India. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is misusing government bodies. They have flouted the Constitution. They have tried to snatch away the rights given to our voters. We will fight against this government.”

The officer further said, “But the protesters tried to cross the barricades and created a ruckus, as a result of which we used water cannons to disperse them. Some arrests were also made on this occasion.”
