Pant scored only 49 runs in four innings at a poor average of 12.25. KL Rahul will lead Team India in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa starting from November 30 in Ranchi. Rahul will take over the captaincy as India will be without its appointed ODI captain Shubman Gill. The 26-year-old suffered the injury on the second day of the Kolkata Test and was taken to hospital after being retired hurt after facing just three balls in the first innings. He has not recovered in time for the second Test and will continue to be evaluated in Mumbai.
