Amid the ongoing power tussle in Karnataka Congress, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he will go to Delhi if the party high command calls him. This comes after the statement of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in which he had said that the decision on the ongoing tussle in the state will be taken after discussion between the high command, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Siddaramaiah told reporters that if the high command calls, I will go to Delhi.

On November 20, as the Karnataka government reached the halfway point of its five-year term, the market for speculation became heated. However, everything remained business as usual for the Chief Minister, who did not comment on the chief ministerial post during his press conference in Bengaluru. Instead, he announced a relief package of Rs 1,033 crore to cover crop damage in 14 lakh hectares due to excessive rainfall in the state.
Karnataka Chief Minister said, “This time there has been excessive rainfall in the state. Crops have been damaged in about 14 lakh hectares. Farmers should be compensated. I had visited Kalaburagi, Yadgir and some other districts, where maize, sugarcane and pigeon pea crops have suffered huge losses. We have appealed to the central government and they will send a central team here. We hope they will give compensation. For 17 lakh hectares Financial assistance will be provided.”

He further said that if it is irrigated land, Rs 25,500 per hectare will be given. If it is multi-cropped land, Rs 31,000 per hectare will be given. The state government is providing Rs 1,033 crore for a total of 14 lakh hectares. This program is being launched today, under which the total number of beneficiaries is 14,24,124.
