Amid speculation of leadership change in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday said all issues related to the party will be discussed within the party and not in the media.Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Shivakumar said that I do not want to say anything in the media. We will discuss party issues not in the media but within the four walls. There is no further discussion, only the party flag has to be kept high, the Constitution has to be kept high and the Constitution has to be protected. He also rejected talk of internal differences in the Congress and said there was “no confusion” in the party and all 140 MLAs belonged to the “same group” with no separate factions or demands.

Shivkumar said that there is no confusion. No one should ask for anything. There is no group. There is only one faction – Congress faction. Our group consists of 140 MLAs. When asked if he would go to Delhi, Shivakumar said he would ask for time if needed as he wanted to finalize the names of candidates for the four MLC seats. He said that if anything happens, I will ask for time because I want to decide the names of the candidates for the four MLC seats. I wanted to restructure the KPCC Trust and our properties, I want to talk to senior party leaders about this.
Asked about the demand by a group of Congress MLAs to make him the chief minister, Shivakumar said, “I have no group here.” Earlier in the day, Minister of State Priyank Kharge said every member of the Congress party is clear that whatever decision the high command takes, the leaders will follow it. Speaking to ANI, Priyank Kharge said that very clearly, the CM, DCM and every member of the Congress party has clearly said that whatever the high command decides, that will happen. When the top leadership is speaking in the same tone, in the same tone, then where is the difference?
