In total, 728 players participated in the trials, including 479 players on the first day and 245 on the second day. However, the players were not interested in some sports. On the second day of the trial, both boys and girls did not attend gymnastics, kho-kho and netball. At the same time, during the trials held on 9 April, the girls did not show interest in traditional sports like Kho-Kho and Kabaddi.
District Sports Officer Kuldeep Chugh informed that athletics, powerlifting and boxing trials will be started from April 11, in which more young players of the district will showcase their sports talent. Chugh said that the aim of the sports department is to identify qualified players and give them further training and reach the national level.
The Sports Department is selecting promising players for state level teams through these trials to provide them better facilities and platforms. The department has appealed to all schools and players for maximum participation in trials.
