Prashant Kishor led Jan Suraj Party on Saturday dissolved all the organizational units of the party from Panchayat level to the state level after the massive defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Party spokesperson Syed Masih Uddin said in a statement that new units would be set up in the next one and a half months. He said that this decision was taken in the party’s National Council meeting held in Patna, which was presided over by State President Manoj Bharti.
The meeting was accompanied by party leaders like Kishor, former Army vice chief S.K. Singh, former Union Minister Ramchandra Prasad Singh and senior advocate Y.V. Giri was also present. The statement said the party has handed over the responsibility of all the 12 divisions of the state to its senior leaders, where they will re-create an effective and proactive organizational structure.
This team of party leaders will hold detailed discussions to identify the reasons for the defeat and submit a report regarding leaders guilty of indiscipline or internal betrayal. Jan Suraj Party could not even open its account in the assembly elections, and most of its candidates could not even save their deposits.
