India won the first T20 Blind Women’s World Cup by defeating Nepal by seven wickets in the final played at P Sara Oval in Colombo on Sunday.
Bowling first, the Indian team restricted Nepal to 114 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated overs. The dominance of the Indian bowlers was so much that the Nepali team could hit only one four in its entire innings. In response, India achieved the target by scoring 117 runs losing 3 wickets in just 12 overs and won the title.
During the run chase, Phula Saren performed brilliantly for India and scored the highest score of 44 runs. In the tournament, India defeated Australia in the semi-final to reach the final, while Nepal defeated Pakistan in the other semi-final on Saturday.

After the title win, team captain Deepika TC said, ‘We feel extremely proud and this is a historic victory. Our entire team has worked hard for this achievement. This is an extremely strong team, and now other teams are hesitant to play us. We are now ready to play with the men’s national team as well.
