The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2025) began with unmatched pomp in Goa as the opening parade turned the streets of the city into a riot of colors and lights. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Sanjay Jaju, MoS I&B Dr L Murugan flagged off the spectacular sight. Well-known film personalities like Muzaffar Ali, festival director Shekhar Kapur, actor Anupam Kher, N Balakrishna, filmmaker Om Prakash Mehra graced the stage.

Three films of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan will be screened at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) have partnered with mobile digital cinema company Picturetime Digiplex to launch inflatable theaters at this annual film festival.
An inflatable theater will be installed at the Goa Academy of Arts, one of the major venues for IFFI to be held in Goa. Films will be screened in this manner for the first time. Watch Shah Rukh Khan’s film Chak De! inside this fully-equipped cinema hall. India, Darr and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will be screened. This film festival will run from November 20 to November 28.

According to the press release, PictureTime, a company known for installing inflatable theaters in remote and underserved areas, will install a high-tech mobile theater on the academy’s campus. Inspirational, children’s cinema, nostalgia, Indian panorama classics films will be screened here.
Along with Shahrukh Khan’s films, other classic films like Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film 12th Fail, Malayalam hit film Manjummel Boys, Rajkummar Rao starrer Srikanth will also be shown in this inflatable theatre. Also, special films will be screened for school children, which include films like Kafal: Wild Berries, Gattu, Banarasi Jasoos, The Prince and the Crown of Stone and Naal 2.
To ensure the films reach the local residents of Goa, Picturetime will also screen films under the open sky at several locations in North and South Goa. Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO, Picturetime Digiplex, said that this partnership with NDFC and ESG shows how far the technology of inflatable theater has evolved. “Bringing our mobile digital theaters to a festival of this scale highlights how far this technology has come, from remote villages to one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world,” Choudhary said.
