Suspended Punjab DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who is facing charges of bribery and disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees, was produced before the CBI court through video conferencing from jail today after his judicial custody expired. Bhullar was again sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
In the petition filed by Bhullar’s family in the CBI court, they said that it has become difficult for the family to manage the household expenses. CBI has frozen all their bank accounts. The hearing on this matter will be held on December 8.
CBI has frozen DIG Bhullar’s salary account, his son’s salary account and his father’s pension account. His son is Assistant Advocate General in Punjab. He is not able to withdraw his income from agriculture and rent.

Harcharan Singh Bhullar’s counsel, SPS Bhullar, filed an application in the district court on Monday (November 17) requesting to de-freeze his bank accounts. The special CBI court has issued a notice to the CBI to reply. The lawyer told the court that the CBI can continue the investigation, but their bank accounts should be de-frozen.
