A tragic accident took place in the morning near Purana Shala, a town in Gurdaspur. The car of a family returning from a religious place suddenly lost its balance, after which the vehicle fell into a dirty drain. A father and his innocent daughter died in the accident.
It is being told that the family was going back to their home Mukerian by vehicle after paying obeisance from Sri Darbar Sahib. Meanwhile, a tipper overtakes, the balance of the car suddenly deteriorates and the vehicle overturns and falls into a dirty drain. The driver and his four-year-old daughter lost their lives.

During the accident, the mother and her son who were sitting in the vehicle were pulled out safely by the passers-by who reached the spot. According to the passers-by, the speed of the vehicle was high. The accident may have occurred due to sleepiness of the person driving the vehicle. The actual cause of the accident is not yet known.
