Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji: Devotees bowing at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Deepmala-fireworks will be held at night.

The 556th birth anniversary of the first Guru of the Sikhs, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, is being celebrated today with great devotion and enthusiasm. From early morning, an immense group of devotees started arriving at Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib to pay obeisance. On this auspicious occasion, pilgrims from the country and abroad took a bath in the holy lake, had darshan of Guru Sahib and offered prayers for the good of all.

On this occasion, the Jalo Sahib of Guru Sahibs was specially decorated at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Deepmala and spectacular fireworks have also been organized at Sri Darbar Sahib at night. Thousands of devotees reached Sri Harmandir Sahib and congratulated them on Gurpurab.

Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib Giani Raghubir Singh ji congratulated Guru Nanak Naam Lewa Sangat on Prakash Purab and said that we should walk on the path of Guru Sahib’s darshan, connect with Gurbani and live a Guru’s life. Sri Darbar Sahib manager Bhagwant Singh Dhagera also congratulated the devotees on Prakash Purab and said that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji are a symbol of humanity and equality.

The devotees said while talking to the media that they have reached Guru Ghar today and taken bath in the tank and prayed to God for the peace and tranquility of the country and the family. They said that they consider themselves lucky to have had the opportunity to bathe in Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib on this holy day.
