Big train accident in Mirzapur: 4 people were crushed by the train while crossing the track, CM Yogi expressed grief

At least four people died after being hit by an oncoming train on Tuesday while crossing the railway tracks in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred when the victims had just deboarded a different train. According to railway officials, the victims were going from Chopan to Varanasi to take a bath in the Ganga. They had reached Chunar by passenger train, when this accident happened at Chunar railway station. As they tried to cross the tracks, they were hit by another train coming from the opposite direction. Officials said the victims were supposed to descend towards the platform but decided to cross the tracks, leading to the accident.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of this tragic incident and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. He instructed the officers to immediately reach the spot and carry out relief work on war footing.

The Chief Minister also directed SDRF and NDRF teams to expedite rescue and relief operations and ensure proper medical treatment for the injured. Chief Minister Yogi wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
