Meteorological agency Skymet has predicted that the monsoon will be normal in the country this year. According to the agency, there is more than 80% of the possibility that the monsoon will be normal or more.
Here, in the north-western states of the country, the effect of heat is intensifying since the first week of April. Many parts of Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab are in the grip of heatwaves. There is a heatwave alert in 30 districts of Madhya Pradesh today.
The temperature in Delhi has crossed 40 degrees in April 15. There are heatwave conditions in many areas. Earlier in 2011, these conditions were created. The temperature was 47 degrees on Tuesday in Barmer, Rajasthan. The mercury of Barmer reached 47 degrees in April after 10 years. Many districts including Jaisalmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh were hot.

Where is the heat in the country?
- On 8 April, heatwave was in most parts of West Rajasthan.
- Heatwaves were recorded in Haryana, Delhi, Himachal, Gujarat and parts of Madhya Pradesh.
- Barmer became the hottest city in the country for the second consecutive day. 45.6 degrees on 7 April and then 46.4 degrees.
- The capital Delhi and NCR recorded mercury 4-5 degrees above normal.
Where is the relief from rain and strong winds?
According to the IMD, rain and hailstorm gave mild relief in some parts of the country. But this effect was limited to the eastern state and South India only.
- On 9 April, there was hailstorm in some areas of Bihar.
- Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya have alert of heavy rainfall between April 8-10.
- Light rain with thunderstorms in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka for the next 3 days.
- In Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand, rains and hailstones may fall from April 9-11.

How will the weather be the next 2 days? For the next 2 days, a temperature of 2-4 degrees may increase in Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Northeast and South India due to Western Disturbance. The humidity in Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa and coastal Tamil Nadu will disturb the humidity. Low pressure in the Bay of Bengal may also receive rain in the northeastern states after April 11.
