Papalpreet Singh will be arrested under FIR No 39 registered in connection with the attack at Ajnala police station. After bringing Dibrugarh to Punjab, Papalpreet Singh will be produced in this case in Ajnala court and will be taken on remand.
Earlier, many of his colleagues, including Amritpal, have been brought to Punjab from Dibrugarh Jail recently. The Punjab government can include Amritpal Singh and his 2 other colleagues Pappalpreet Singh and Varinder Vicky in the investigation of the attack on the Ajnala police station in 2023 by bringing them to Amritsar in Punjab.
On 20 March, 7 of Amritpal Singh’s associates were shifted from Dibrugarh Jail in Assam to Amritsar.
Why did Ajnala violence happen
Barinder Singh, a resident of Chamkaur Sahib, who reached Ajnala on the night of 15 February 2023, was abducted by some people. After this, Barinder Singh was beaten up on a motor near Jandiala Guru. Amritpal was also present there. The young man complained to the police. The police registered a case against Amritpal and his supporters.
In this case, the police arrested Hurricane Singh. This provoked Amritpal and announced his arrest while protesting outside the Ajnala police station. The then SP Harpal Singh Randhawa had told that the attackers who reached the police station had brought swords and guns. He also had the holy bead of Shri Gurugranth Sahib. In such a situation, the soldiers had retreated.
