Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi jumped into a pond in Begusarai and participated in the traditional process of fishing. VIP chief and Grand Alliance’s Deputy Chief Minister candidate Mukesh Sahni, Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar and others were also present. Earlier, while addressing a huge public meeting in Begusarai on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi made a promise to the people of the state. He said that when the Grand Alliance comes to power, it will focus on improving the education system and creating world-class opportunities for students.
Rahul Gandhi said that I give you a personal guarantee that the day the Grand Alliance government comes to power at the Centre, we will open an excellent university like Nalanda University in Bihar. Students from all over the world will come to study here.” He assured that the Grand Alliance government in Bihar will serve all sections of the society. He said that if we form the government in Bihar, it will be a government for all, not for any one caste or community. Rahul Gandhi also launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused him of making promises only during the election campaign. He said, “Modi ji comes before the elections, gives a speech and promises to do whatever you say. But after the elections are over, they do not return to Bihar nor listen to your problems.”
Mocking the Prime Minister, he said, “The Prime Minister can do anything for votes. Ask him to do yoga, and he will do some asanas in front of the camera.” Taking aim at the government’s handling of unemployment, Gandhi said the Prime Minister was trying to divert the attention of the youth from the real issues. He said, “Instead of giving jobs, the Prime Minister is asking the youth to watch reels on social media. He wants to divert their attention so that they do not raise questions on unemployment.”
