Whereas Shami the fast bowler said that the lack of communication was from the management’s side and not from his side. He stressed that if he is fit again for Ranji Trophy then why can’t he play ODI?
Shami was undoubtedly ignored by the Indian team, but he got a place in the Bengal team for the Ranji Trophy starting from October 15. Announcing the team, Bengal Cricket Association said that Abhimanyu Easwaran has been made the captain.
Team India did not talk to me regarding fitness. I am not the one who had to tell him about my fitness. He should have asked me. If I can play four-day cricket then why can’t I play 50-over matches? If I was not fit, I would have been in NCA, not playing Ranji Trophy matches here.
