Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday hailed the launch of the new Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam, calling it a game-changer for Andhra Pradesh’s economy and Indian youth. Naidu told reporters in Delhi after attending the ‘India AI Shakti’ event that it was a historic day for Andhra Pradesh. This is a revolutionary change for the economy of Andhra Pradesh and the Indian youth. I am grateful to the Prime Minister, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. I commend the Google team for the speed with which they brought this project to our country.

Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for setting up the hub, Chief Minister Naidu also praised the capabilities of Indians to lead global tech companies around the world. He said that I have seen a lot of changes in India. Indians are known for information technology. You take any global company, people of Indian origin are its CEOs, this is our strength. Be it Google, Microsoft or any other company. Now, with the same strength, AI is a reality of the future, but we have to use Artificial Intelligence effectively. He further said, “Data is a new fuel for development. I am grateful to the Government of India for giving me the opportunity to start this project in Andhra Pradesh.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi expressed happiness over the launch of Google AI Hub and called it an important step towards realizing India’s vision of Developed India. In a post shared on Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said he is pleased with the launch of Google AI Hub in the dynamic city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This multi-faceted investment, which includes gigawatt-scale data center infrastructure, is in line with our vision of building a developed India.

Google on Tuesday announced a massive investment of US$15 billion over the next five years to set up a gigawatt-scale artificial intelligence (AI) hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, which will be the company’s largest AI hub outside the US. This announcement was made during the ‘India AI Shakti’ event organized by Google in New Delhi.
