The seat sharing in the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for Bihar Assembly elections 2025 has been finalized, confirmed JDU’s working national president Sanjay Kumar Jha on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter).

Big agreement for JDU

This distribution of seats is a big agreement for JDU led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In the last assembly elections in 2020, JDU had contested 115 seats. This time, the party has been reduced to 101 seats after suffering a direct loss of 14 seats, while the BJP has also come down to less than its previous tally of 110 seats. The inclusion of Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in the alliance has significantly affected the mathematics of seats.

Coalition reaction

JDU leader Sanjay Kumar Jha welcomed this split and said, ‘Leaders and workers of all parties of NDA welcome it happily and are united to make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister again with an overwhelming majority.’
