Politician and well-known TV personality Smriti Irani shared an old personal story related to Salman Khan. In a recent interview, Smriti recalled her first meeting with the Bollywood superstar. But it wasn’t on a film set or a party – but at a moment they least expected: when Salman was being scolded by his father Salim Khan!
Smriti recalled the incident in “The Bombay Journey” on Mashable India’s YouTube channel. She credited this introduction to her husband, businessman Zubin Irani. She said, “At St. Xavier’s, Salman and my husband were classmates. So the first time Zubin took me to meet Salman, Salim Khan was there.” Smriti then recalled how Salim Khan reprimanded both of them without wasting any time. “He said, ‘Do you know what your brother used to do with my son? He used to steal my car and run away. Both of them are useless.’ I just stood quietly and Salman and my husband were looking down.”
Shahrukh Khan asked not to marry Smriti Irani
Zubin also knew Shahrukh Khan—and that’s how Smriti met him. She said, “I met Shahrukh because of my husband. He knew him, so I had asked him several times to ask him for an interview.”
“Actually, the first thing he said to me was, ‘Listen, don’t get married. I’m telling you, don’t get married.’ I said, ‘Brother, it’s too late.'”
