Lohia’s struggle for the rights of the deprived class will always be a guide for Indian democracy: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while paying tribute to the great freedom fighter and socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia on his death anniversary on Sunday, who ignited the flame of non-Congressism in the country, said that Dr. Lohia’s struggle for the rights of the deprived class will always be a guiding light for Indian democracy.

Yogi Adityanath said in a post on his official

Yogi said, “Your (Lohia’s) struggle for the upliftment and social justice of the poor, farmers, laborers and deprived classes will always remain a guiding light for Indian democracy.”

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said in his post on ‘X’, “Humble tribute to the great freedom fighter, profound thinker Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his death anniversary!”

Maurya said, “Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia ji presented a unique example of social justice and equality by dedicating his entire life to the establishment of a strong democracy.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said on ‘X’, “Hundreds of thousands of tributes to Indian freedom fighter, sharp political thinker and socialist politician Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary.”

Dr. Lohia was born on 23 March 1910 and died on 12 October 1967. Lohia was a freedom fighter and follower of Gandhian ideas. He worked strongly for the political empowerment of the deprived communities and also worked to unite the opposition parties against the then hegemony of the Congress.
