Delhi government has banned the sale, purchase and distribution of Coldriff cough syrup as it is not of standard quality. This information has been given in an official order.
According to the order issued on Friday, Coldrif syrup (Paracetamol, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, Chlorpheniramine Maleate Syrup) manufactured by Srisan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Tamil Nadu in May 2025 was found to be adulterated with ‘diethylene glycol’, which is a poisonous chemical and is considered harmful to human health. All stakeholders are directed to immediately stop the sale, purchase or distribution of the syrup.
The order said that the general public has also been advised not to use this product in view of its potential health risks. The order said that cooperation of all stakeholders is required for strict implementation and wide dissemination of the public advisory issued in public interest.
