India wants peace…Prime Minister Modi spoke on Gaza issue in the presence of British PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer held a delegation level meeting in Mumbai. Prime Minister Modi said in the joint press meet with British Prime Minister Starmer in Mumbai that in today’s meeting we also discussed Ukraine and Gaza. India wants peace. India and UK relations remain strong in times of global instability.

In the current times of global uncertainty, the partnership between India and the UK will continue to serve as an important pillar of global stability and economic progress. In today’s meeting we also exchanged views on peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and West Asia as well as the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. It is my pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Mumbai today on his first visit to India. There has been significant progress in relations between India and Britain under the leadership of Prime Minister Starmer. During my visit to the UK in July this year, we agreed on the historic Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

This agreement will reduce the import costs of both the countries, create new employment opportunities for the youth, promote trade and benefit both our industries and consumers. I am delighted to welcome British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Mumbai on his first visit to India. There has been significant progress in India-British relations under the leadership of Prime Minister Starmer. During my visit to the UK this July, we signed the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
