A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the final phase of the Mumbai Metro Line-3 corridor, operations on the entire 33.5 km long stretch of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 corridor between Cuffe Parade and Aarey JVLR began on Thursday morning. The officers provided this information.
An official of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) said that this metro corridor is known as ‘Aqua Line’. Operations on this began with the departure of the first train from both the terminals at 5.55 am.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the final phase of Mumbai Metro Line-3 between Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade which will prove to be a milestone in the development of Mumbai’s infrastructure. Earlier till Wednesday, the operation of ‘Aqua Line’ was limited between Acharya Atre Chowk and Aarey JVLR.
The city’s first fully underground metro corridor, 33.5 km long between Cuffe Parade in south Mumbai and Aarey JVLR in the western suburbs, became fully operational on Thursday with the inauguration of the 10.99 km long ‘Phase 2B’.
Prime Minister Modi said on social media platform ‘X’ on Wednesday, “Phase 2B of Mumbai Metro Line-3 is a significant addition to Mumbai’s infrastructure. Metro connectivity is essential for the development of the city. This project will have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Mumbai.
